When the L2 Max makes sense

You want the dual-motor setup and can work with the smaller battery. Compare the current price gap first: if the DT2 Pro's extra capacity is not a priority, the L2 Max is worth a closer look.

When to step up to the DT2 Pro

You prioritise more battery energy and a higher motor rating. Its published weight is close to the L2 Max, so the upgrade buys capacity without a large change in the listed carrying weight.

A few things worth knowing

Is the DT2 Pro's battery really that much bigger?

Yes, by nominal energy. The L2 Max Dual's 48 V × 20.8 Ah gives 998.4 Wh; the DT2 Pro's 52 V × 23.4 Ah gives 1,216.8 Wh. That is 218.4 Wh more, or about 22%. Comparing amp-hours alone misses the different voltages.

Will I actually get the advertised range?

Treat 56 miles and 71 miles as the manufacturer's maximum claims. They are not a promise for a particular route or rider. Allow a margin for your journey and check the manufacturer's test conditions before using a range figure to plan it.

Why aren't top speed and hill-climbing scores compared?

Published figures differ across the current manufacturer listings and existing product descriptions. Rather than pick the largest number, we compare the consistent specifications here. Ask us to confirm the exact version and speed configuration for your delivery country before ordering.

Does the L2 Max Dual have hydraulic brakes?

Ausom's current product listing says front and rear disc brakes with E-ABS, while existing VoltCentre copy describes hydraulic brakes. We have not reconciled that difference for the current supplied configuration. Please ask us to confirm the brakes before making that your reason to buy. Ausom lists hydraulic discs for the DT2 Pro.
